Step 1: Prepare Your Printer
Before starting the primary process, you have to make sure that all the protective materials are removed and your printer is appropriately installed and connected. If your printer is not prepared yet, then follow the instructions:
- Unbox it, check outside of the printer and remove all the protective materials.

- Connect the power cord to the rear of the printer, and then plug the other end into an electrical outlet.

- Now, pull outside the paper tray or set the paper stack and put the paper on it between two plastic sliders.
After turning your printer on, you need to establish a connection between your computer and printer then install cartridges and Required software. This will enable you to scan your photos or documents from it. Follow the steps below carefully.
Step 2: Cartridge Installation
Your first job is to check out installed cartridges or install them manually. Installing cartridges is very easy. Just you have to place it at the proper ports. Firstly, read the user manual and find the cartridge holder in your printer and follow the instructions below:
- Unpack the cartridge from its package

- Remove the plastic tap from the cartridges.

- Hold the ink cartridges according to towards the printer
- Insert the black cartridge into the right-hand side cartridge holder.

- Then insert the tri-color cartridge into the left-hand side cartridge holder.

- Close the ink cartridge access door of the printer.

Step 3: Scan Document From Printer To Your Computer
Congrats, now you can scan from your printer to your computer. To scan documents, follow the instructions:
- Place a document face-down in your scanner. You’ll also want to make sure that your scanner is on and connected to your computer before proceeding.
- Open Start. Click the Windows logo in the bottom-left corner of the screen.
- Type fax and scan into Start. Doing so will search for the Windows Fax and Scan app.
- Click Windows Fax and Scan. It’s at the top of the Start window.
- Click New Scan. This option is on the upper-left side of the Fax and Scan window. A new window will open.
- Make sure that your scanner is correct. If you don’t see your scanner’s name at the top of the window or the wrong scanner is listed.
- Click Change… in the upper-right side of the window and then select your scanner’s name.
- Select a type of document. Click the “Profile” drop-down box, then select the type of document (e.g., Photo) in the drop-down box.
- Decide on your document’s color. Click the “Color format” drop-down box, then select either Color or Black and White.
- Select a file type. Click the “File type” drop-down box, then click the file type (e.g., PDF or JPG) that you want to use to store the scanned document on your computer.
- Change any other options on the page. Depending on your scanner, you may have other options that you can modify prior to scanning your document.
- Click Scan. It’s at the bottom of the window. Your document will begin scanning into your computer using your selected options and format.
