Fix Up: Printer Status Error
Check your connection
- Check the connection between your computer and printer.
- Check the wireless network or cable you are using has no problem.
- Power off your printer and computer completely, after a few minutes, then turn them on again.
Check the Paper and Ink Levels
- Check that the printer has a sufficient paper on the paper tray.
- Check the ink levels. If the ink level is low-end, replace the ink cartridges.
Make sure that the Printer is Online
- Open the Start menu, type Control Panel and tap enter.
- Tap the “View devices and printer” under the hardware and sound heading.
- Select your printer device from the list.
- Right-click and make sure that “Use Printer Offline” is not selected.
Reinstall the Driver
- Open the Start menu, type Control Panel and tap enter.
- Tap the “View devices and printer” under the hardware and sounds heading.

- Select your printer device from the list.
- Right-click and tap Remove device.

- Now a pop-up box appears that says really want to remove the selected printer.
- Select Yes in the prompt to continue.
- Now, go to the printer’s official website to reinstall the printer driver.
Set the printer spooler to Automatic
- Open the Start menu, type Services, and tap enter.
- Find and tap the Print spooler from the list.
- Right-click it, and click Properties.
- Now in the start type field, choose Automatic.

- Tap Apply and OK.
Update your Windows
- Open the start menu and then select Settings.
- Choose Update & Security.

- In the left panel, choose Windows Update.

- Now, tap on Check for updates on the right-hand menu.

- If any are available, install the updates.
- After that, reboot your computer.
How to fix printer status errors on Mac?
Check for Mac updates
- Tap the Apple icon on the left corner of the screen.
- Go to System Preferences > Software Update.
- If Software Update finds new software, click the Update Now button to install it.

Delete and re-add the printer
- Go to Apple Menu > System Preferences > printers and scanners.
- Click the minus-sign (-) button to delete the printer from the list.
- Click the plus-sign (+) button to re-add the printer.

Reset Printing System
- Click on the Apple Menu icon and click on System Preferences.
- Click on Printer and Scanners.

- On the next screen, right-click on your Printer.
- Click on the Reset Printing System option in the contextual menu.

- On the pop-up, click on Reset to confirm.
