Following are some steps to fix canon printer offline problem-

  • Check Printer Power –
    • Turn on the printer by pressing the Power button.
      If the printer does not turn on even after pressing the power button:
    • Check power cord connection.
    • Disconnect and reconnect the power cable at both ends.
  • Select the right printer

When you start printing a document, make sure that you have selected an appropriate printer. If in any case wrong printer is automatically choosen then you have to change the default printer settings.

Please check your internet and USB cable once to get Print Spooler running again as a fresh restart of Print Spooler service can fix many problems like offline printers.

Sometimes the printer needs a power cycle to reset. As such – potentially any error conditions or lost communication.

  • Reboot Computer – Go to Start > Select Power Button > Then select Restart.

Note: Sometimes in a problem you need to restart the computer to refresh many peripherals connections like printer, router, modem etc.

  • Reinstall the printer driver (Windows 11 or 10) –

If your printer is facing any kind of problem like the printer going offline again and again. So uninstall and reinstall your printer drivers.

  1. Press Win+R to open the Run dialog on your screen.
  2. Type devmgmt.msc in the void and hit the Enter key.
  3. On the following page, click the drop-down menu ahead of Print queues option.
  4. Locate the printer you have to reinstall and then right-click on the same. From the context menu, select the Properties option.
    Note – In case there is already a yellow sign with an exclamation mark in it, select ‘Update driver’ option instead.
  5. A pop-up warning message will appear on your screen for confirmation of driver uninstalling. Then Click on Uninstall.
  6. Restart your PC.
  7. Then, click on Search automatically for updated driver software option.
  8. Now your printer driver will be installed.
